ZOWIE GEAR, an innovative manufacturer of competitive gaming gear, has today revealed the latest addition to their ever-growing line of top-end gaming products. Co-developed with the Counter-Strike legend Emil "HeatoN" Christensen, the EC-series of gaming mice  features innovative design and the latest technology available, all backed up by 12 months of extensive research and testing to create the best possible product.

Unlike many other gaming mice available on the market today, the ZOWIE EC-series of mice hosts an optical sensor over the often praised laser technology. As most gamers today use a cloth pad, the reason to use an optical sensor was clear: small particles from the cloth pad tend to stick to the lens of the mouse sensor due to static electricity generated by friction between the mouse and the pad. While this is not a problem for optical sensors, this causes the more sensitive laser sensors to face many problems with tracking. ZOWIE will continue their research in order to develop technology that bypasses these issues with laser sensors, but have chosen to use trustworthy optical sensors on their EC-series of mice for now.

To gamers, the lift-off distance of a mouse is an extremely important feature. When lifting your mouse to reposition it in middle of a tight situation, having your mouse start tracking movement while in mid-air is something a gamer never wants to experience. With the ZOWIE EC-series of mice this problem becomes history, as it features the lowest lift-off distance of any optical mouse in the market: 1,5mm.

Unlike any other mouse in the market today, the ZOWIE EC-series of mice work straight out of the box at 1000Hz without the need of any drivers or other software. This means that compared to a typical gaming mouse that operates at 125Hz, the ZOWIE EC brings mouse cursor updates eight times faster anywhere you go, without drivers or modifications.

The mouse wheel in the ZOWIE EC-series of mice has gone through extensive research in order to make the ZOWIE EC-series mousewheel the most durable and precise in the market. Instead of traditional mechanical systems, the mice feature an optical encoder that should increase the precise lifetime of the wheel with many years.

The ZOWIE EC-series includes four different mouse designs with differences in differences in colour, shape, coating and size to satisfy the specific needs of every gamer. EC1 and EC2 black, include a rubber coating to increase the grip when holding, while the EC1 and EC2 pure white feature the popular smooth coating which reduces sweaty palms.
