POV.wp returns with former coL players

Posted on 04/09/2010 by tomahawk

POV.wp has returned with three former compLexity players joining two free agents.

The compLexity lineup was released this week after several players missed their flights for MSI BEAT IT in China.

Irukandji, dboorN and hero were quick to find a new home: Paragon of Virtue. Joining them are aZn - which was meant to act as a stand-in for coL in WCG - and savi0r.

Savi0r was a member of compLexity when x3o joined them back in 2009 and already played for Excello. As for aZn, he has been team less for a long time but has played in sides such as zEx or EG in the past.

With these players, POV.wp looks as follows:

Andrew 'Irukandji' Timmerman

David 'savi0r' Park

Derek 'dboorN' Boorn

Jeff 'hero' Mettetal

Kevin 'aZn' Wang

The team can be seen competing in ESEA Season 7.

WCG: wCrea and neWave.PlayMore qualified

Posted on 30/08/2010 by tomahawk

wCrea and neWave.PlayMore have won their qualifiers for World Cyber Games 2010.

The serbian team neWave.PlayMore came out on top of a 64-team qualifier. They faced urban Experience in the grand final. The urban Experience was no competition for PlayMore which finished them off with ease (16-2 in de_train and 16-6 in de_nuke. PlayMore were the favourites to take the tournament and the final result proves just how strong the team is compared to home competition.

Unlike PlayMore, wCrea that has players like ArcadioN - that we interviewed - were the underdogs in the Danish qualifier, where they would have to beat mTw to qualify for World Cyber Games. The grand final of the Danish qualifier saw these two teams face each other and it was far from a walk in the park.

The first map was de_train and wCrea came out on top with a 16-10 result.

The second map was de_tuscan and had a different ending: mTw came out on top with 16-8 win, winning the last 9 rounds in a row.

The decider was de_dust2 where wCrea got a 16-9 win, making them the Danish representatives at World Cyber Games Grand Finals.

Lions welcomes Counter Strike: adds H2k

Posted on 23/08/2010 by tomahawk

Lions have just announced the arrival of H2k as their Counter Strike team.

Lions, formerly Oslo Lions, have recently lost their Norwegian counter strike team - which then joined Online Kingdom - and now welcomes a new team to represent them in the counter-strike scene: H2k Gaming.

The team joins Lions after a lot of back and forward statements between them and the former orga, H2k Gaming, they are now representing the Norwegian-based organisation.

"We're glad to be able to get back into Counter Strike 1.6 this soon after we've parted ways with our Norwegian lineup some weeks ago. Having Counter Strike the past 11 months has been a great lift for Lions, and we were not ready to let that effort go to waste so soon. It will be very interesting to see what we can evolve to in tight cooperation with our new Swedish bred Lions." said Christophe Roblin, member of Lions' management to the team's site, lionsek.com

The new Lions team, which recently added Bjorn 'threat' Pers to the lineup, looks as follows:

  • Richard "Xizt" Landström
  • Niklas "niko" Johansson
  • Frej "kHRYSTAL" Sjöström
  • Emil "FYRR73" Karlsson
  • Björn "THREAT" Pers

The first event under the new flag will be ASUS Summer.

We wish the best of luck to the team as well as the former and new organisation.
