Registration:

To sign up you'll have to be a registered member on excello.net, after registration, click the MY PROFILE icon and enter your COD4 PB GUID. You will also need to create a team, you can do so by clicking on the MY TEAM icon. Once you have a team created, you can then invite your team mates, then simply open the tournament page (ZOWIE COD4 Challenge) and click on "SIGN-UP". 

Note that: YOU MUST HAVE 5 (FIVE) MEMBERS IN YOUR TEAM WITH GUIDS ADDED TO BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE. FAILURE TO DO SO, WILL RESULT IN BEING REPLACED AND/OR REMOVED.

How to check-in? A "Check-in" button will appear at the top right of the site. Teams MUST check-in via this button. We do not accept check-in on irc.

Please remember, it's first come first serve. There's no favouritism or anything similar involved. It's all down to YOU to check-in.

TOURNAMENT RULES

Teams & Players

- A team needs to have 5 players in its team before it can sign up to the cup. The team captain is responsible for his players. The team captain has to be sure that all the teams players know the rules and follow these.

- A team is allowed to substitute during the match, though this is only allowed before, at half time, or during timeouts.

- Players without GUIDs entered will not get accepted into the tournament.

- Teams found having below 5 players will automatically be removed.

- Organisations / managers are allowed to spectate there own team if the server is big enough and if the opponents agree.

Data & Records

Teams can officially request demos in the match comments, this is beneficial for admins and the match participants. This must be done first before contacting an admin. In order for an admin to watch a demo, timestamps must be created. This is a log of the accused player displaying specific rounds and times. All demos will be judged by Vita Nova.

All matches played on Excello need to be recorded and should be kept until 48 hours after the match. If there is a conflict about the match then the demos should be kept until 48 hours after the conflict is solved. Failing to do so will lead to a direct forfeit loss for the team.

Together with Vita Nova, we have decided to force a new rule, something that will boost the scene in many ways. As of 22/03/11, teams that manage to get to the quarter finals will be asked to upload two (2) demos. Teams must upload two different demos per match, you cannot have the same players upload after each game. Please be aware that this is from the quarter finals onwards. Failure to do so will result in a forfeit loss.

Teams can upload the demo to rapidshare or another free upload website. The download link must be put in the match comments.

Cheating

Vita Nova is against any sort of cheating. Therefore we do not allow:

- Any files or programs that change or edit the game from being original. Using any of those files or programs during a cup match will exclude your team from the cup. Also the player in question will be banned from Excello.

An example of a program that is allowed is a voice communication program.

- Bug abusing is not allowed. Doing so will result in a forfeit loss for the team in question and the team will be excluded for the first upcoming cup.

- Teams must check GUID's before the game has started, this is in "Ready up mode".  If you have found a problem, please inform your opponent so they can correct it. Any claims after the game will be dismissed as it is classed as "laming".

- GUIDs can be entered by going to My Profile and entering the 8 last digits of your GUID in the GUID section.

- If a player or clan is caught cheating after a cup is finished but before prizes have been handed out, Excello reserves the right to withhold the prizes.

- "Self spec" will be considered cheating, it gives the player a huge advantage when using this bug. Players caught doing so will result in a round loss. If a team/player has been caught performing this act multiple times then the team will automatically lose any of the rounds they gained whilist "Self-specing".

- Punkbuster must be turned on.

- NO flashing during the knife round. Flashing the other team to gain a knife kill will automatically give your opponents the knife round win.

Cup Layout

- This cup allows 64 teams to participate. The cup runs a single elimination system. 

- All matches will be played over 1 map (except for the final) which is prescheduled by the Cup admins.

- All matches will be played 5 versus 5.

- Teams must have 5 players, you cannot start with 4.

- A teams wins if it reaches 13 rounds first.

- If the score is 12-12, the mode must be changed to mr3. /rcon promod_mode match_mr3

- Seeds will be RANDOM.

Check-in

Check-in will be enabled 30 minutes before a tournament, teams must check-in to be able to participate. Failure to do so will result in being replaced. This is helpful to reduce the amount of no-shows.

Reporting a no-show

Teams can report a no-show 15 minutes after the start time (example: Cup start time: 20:00 – No-show time: 20:15). Please do not spam the admins of the tournament, teams can enter the no-show themselves by entering 1:0 as the score. In some cases, evidence may be needed (screenshots, chat log). Admins have the right to question the team requesting a no-show win.

Entering results

Results can be entered by going onto the tournament page. Alternatively you can PM an admin to enter the result.

- The maps will be decided by VETO Best of 3 (bo3)

Please note that we do not give out or supply servers to teams for the tournament, if both teams do not have a server then we suggest you ask around.  We have a schedule to stick to and therefore cannot afford to go over it. If both teams fail to play there match, they shall be removed from the tournament.

Media Stream

- Streaming will be forced

- Streaming may only happen if the server is big enough

- Streamers may offer a bigger server, if the pings are neutral

- In the event where players are experiencing packet loss, the players should be prioritized over a streamer's server at all measures in order to ensure fair play

- A stream cannot be rejected if the server is big enough

- Rejecting a stream will result in a forfeit loss

- A stream must have a delay, this will be checked by the tournament admin

- If two teams agree to postpone a match, the streamer must accept this.

- In order to stream a match, the streamer must contact the two teams to be able to get the server details.

Contacting your opponent

The primary contact point would be the cup irc channel, this must be used to contact your opponents first. If you do not see them then you can try contacting them in there own irc channel if they have one. You can find there irc channel on there team page on Excello.net
